Hyukjae ran as fast as he could; his legs sore as he kept on; he looked carefully and desperately in every corner; people looking at him concerned. He kept on running; panicking as he couldn’t seem to find his other half.

Desperation and frustration filled his heart as mortification tears started forming and falling down; he was tired; but he needed to keep on.

“KYUHYUN!” He called desperately in a crowded place.

It was spring five and a half years after they met; but Hyukjae woke up feeling cold; with no Kyuhyun by his side. He called for him in the entire house; every time he yelled his heart was making heavier; he just couldn’t keep on.

He tried his best to move his legs; because he was so nervous and scared that his body was giving up; tears blurring his sight as he looked at every person in the streets; looking deep into some lonely roads; calling desperately his name.

“Kyuhyun!” He called with shaky voice; four hours running through the street and he still couldn’t find him; he wanted to die out of frustration. “Kyuhyun…” He called almost whispering; falling onto his knees as the people kept on passing by; just looking at the young man in the street; all broke down and tired.

Hyukjae legs hurt like hell; but it didn’t even compare to the pain that he was feeling in his heart as he felt himself lonely and completely lost without Kyuhyun by his side. And still; he stood up; not giving up as his muscles begged him to stop.

Hyukjae was currently in a crowded park; with a lake by the sides; he was tired; and the beautiful view didn’t even called his attention; he kept on walking; it was almost dark; he has been wondering around for about ten hours; looking for the person who stole his heart.

He passed by many males; and he would check them all; but no one of them was Kyuhyun; much for Hyukjae’s disappointment.

Suddenly; Hyukjae turned to see a body lying in the grass; he couldn’t see his face; but something told him it was the person he loved the most. Hyukjae walked slowly towards the fugure; slowly because his legs wouldn’t allow him go any faster; his heart was beating and tears started going down when he recognized the body; he quickly went and fell down in his knees by the side of the body; whose legs and arms were spread in a relaxing way all over the grass; his eyes closed and a weak smile in his face.

“You stupid!” Hyukjae exclaimed with tears falling down like rivers from his eyes; hitting Kyuhyun’s chest as he felt his body was giving up; tears going down out of happiness because he was so scared.

“Hyukkie!” Kyuhyun exclaimed grabbing Hyukjae’s wrist; looking at his beloved person cry desperately; stopping him from hitting on him more.

Kyuhyun sat down and cupped Hyukjae’s sobbing face. “I hate you!” Hyukjae yelled looking down and covering his face with his eyes. “I was so scared!” He admitted sobbing loudly; calling the attention of so many people; but he couldn’t care less.

Kyuhyun smiled weakly and hugged Hyukjae; who at first fought back but Kyuhyun was stronger. “I’m sorry.” Kyuhyun said softly. “I thought you saw my note.” He said while hiding his face in Hyukjae’s neck; smelling the scent that came from it.

Hyukjae froze for a moment. “N-Note?” He pushed Kyuhyun away and looked at him at the eyes.

Kyuhyun chuckled. “You’re a dummy Hyukkie.” He said pecking on Hyukjae’s lips. “I thought you were mad at me and you wouldn’t come.” Kyuhyun said hugging Hyukjae once again.

Hyukjae blushed out of embarrassment. He hid his face in Kyuhyun’s chest as his tears started going out again. “I was so worried.” He said clenching on Kyuhyun’s shirt. “I thought you ran away from me.” He cried harder while thinking about that; he couldn’t stand even when it just crossed his mind.

“How could you think that?” Kyuhyun asked pushing away and cupping Hyukjae’s face; looking at his angel’s swollen eyes. “I would never dare to leave you.” He said kissing his tears away. “I love you so much I thought I would die if you didn’t show up today.” He said pecking Hyukjae’s lips lightly.

Hyukjae pouted lightly and just let himself being hugged once more by Kyuhyun; hiccupping as he already stopped crying. “Why did you want me here?” Hyukjae finally asked after a few minutes; Kyuhyun’s hold tight around his waist all the time.

“Because I wanted to spend the day with you.” Kyuhyun said closing his eyes and enjoying the scent that made him become crazy every time he smelled it.

Hyukjae giggled. “It’s already dark.” He pointed out as he looked around the park; people started going; kids were tired and the park was getting lonelier. “Maybe we should get going.” Hyukjae said sighing.

“Why?” Kyuhyun asked softly; pushing away and looking at Hyukjae’s eyes. “I still want to be with you.”

Hyukjae smiled softly as a pink color toned his cheeks. “Kyu…” He called after a few seconds.

“Mm?” Kyuhyun hummed in response.

“Why do you have a scarf on when it’s spring?” Hyukjae asked titling his head and Kyuhyun looked at him at the eyes; smiling softly at the blond boy.

“Because this is the only thing that reminds me I have to keep on with my life.” Kyuhyun said closing his eyes. “This is what helps me standing when I’m not with you.” He continued.

Hyukjae blushed; it was the scarf he gave Kyuhyun the first time they met; it was so worn out already; Kyuhyun used it every time he got a chance.

After almost an hour; they decided to head home; that week it was on Kyuhyun’s house; which they made a refuge. Still; nobody wanted to go on the second floor of the mansion; even when Kyuhyun and Hyukjae told them they could; because everybody wanted to give them some privacy; the second floor of Kyuhyun’s house was their home.

They walked hand in hand and Hyukjae smiled widely when he saw the car of his parents parked outside. “Hurry Kyu!” He whined pulling Kyuhyun’s hand and smiling brightly.

Kyuhyun complied and soon they were in the main door; shocked expressions in their eyes as they opened the door and saw everybody inside.

It was as if they were waiting for the couple; because they were all looking at them with bright faces.

Hyukjae looked at his parents in between the crowd with a questioning look; they both lifted their shoulders; not knowing; or rather not wanting to ruin the surprise; what was going on.

“Hey…” Kyuhyun greeted awkwardly; his hand never leaving Hyukjae’s waist.

“We have something for you.” One of the men said stepping forward towards the couple; Hyukjae could see the bright in everybody’s eyes.

“Oh…” Kyuhyun exclaimed. “Thanks…” He said not knowing what was going on; he only tightened his hold on Hyukjae as a reflex and habit he got. “I guess…” He whispered the last part and only Hyukjae could hear him.

Hyukjae was nervous and he didn’t know why. “Here.” The man said smiling and showing a small open box in front of the couple.

Hyukjae gasped. “Oh God…” He exclaimed taking his hands to his mouth as he looked at his parents frowning lightly; they had to be behind that.

“We just knew about it.” His father said lifting his arms.

“What… What’s this?” He asked pointing at the small box.

Everybody laughed lightly at Kyuhyun’s clumsiness. “We’re sorry we could only buy one.” A woman said smiling apologetically.

There were a few minutes of silence in the house; Kyuhyun’s and Hyukjae’s hearts beating so fast they couldn’t think clearly. “We would be really happy of you accept this as the proof of our gratitude towards you for all these years.” The man said smiling softly.

“But-” Hyukjae was going to protest as Kyuhyun reached his hand and took the small box. He smiled widely at Hyukjae’s scolding face.

“Hyukkie…” Kyuhyun called softly; rubbing Hyukjae’s cheeks lovingly and looking at his eyes; then turning and smiling at everybody who was watching them.

Hyukjae was about to scold Kyuhyun for taking such as expensive gift when he gasped in shock; everybody froze in the room as they saw how Kyuhyun kneeled down in one knee; his eyes never leaving Hyukjae’s.

Everybody’s hearts were racing as they saw the image; it was so beautiful almost all the females started to cry; Hyukjae’s mother hugged his husband with happiness tears.

“Hyukkie…” Kyuhyun called softly again. “You came in my life without me wanting you…” He started smiling softly as Hyukjae’s warm tears started going out from his eyes. “You came in my heart without me realizing it…” Kyuhyun continued. “But now you’re my only reason to live; you’re the angel that came to save my lost soul; you are the perfect creature who stole my heart and gave me his; you are person I love the most.”

Kyuhyun presented the box in front of Hyukjae; it was opened and it revealed the ring everybody bought with their efforts; it had a small diamond and it shone the most that night. “So Hyukkie…” Kyuhyun said. “Would you like to be my angel forever?” He asked looking lovingly at Hyukjae’s eyes with anticipation.

Hyukjae couldn’t stop his tears as they kept on coming; squeals could be heard in the room; encouragement words too; but Hyukjae could only look at Kyuhyun’s deep eyes; those eyes that captivated since the first time he saw them. Hyukjae nodded lightly. “I would.” He answered finally sobbing out of happiness.

Kyuhyun stood up slowly smiling and hugged Hyukjae tightly before kissing him in the lips softly; squeals and screams could be heard; that was such a memorable day; everybody was so happy; screaming in happiness as the couple kept on sharing their love thought a soft kiss.

Hyukjae’s mother burst into tears once Hyukjae said those magical words; her heart filled with happiness; Hyukjae’s father hugged her tightly; smiling warmly and also tearing a little because of the touching scene.

When Kyuhyun and Hyukjae broke apart; Kyuhyun took the ring out of the box and took Hyukjae’s hand; he placed the ring in those slender fingers and then turned up to smile at Hyukjae; he intertwined their fingers together and leaned closer to peck on his lover’s lips.

Then; Kyuhyun turned to see and smile at all the people who were there; he lifted Hyukjae’s and his intertwined hands to the air; making everybody know they were, and would be, always together.

Everybody clapped their hands happily before throwing themselves to congratulate he couple; hugging them and wishing them to be always happy.

“Hyukkie!” Hyukjae’s mother ran to hug his son tightly; suddenly both of them shedding tears of happiness.

“Kyuhyun.” Hyukjae’s father called. “Congratulations.” He said honestly while hugging Kyuhyun.

“Thanks.” Kyuhyun smiled at the man.

“This is so worth to celebrate!” Hyukjae’s mother suddenly yelled and everybody clapped happily; it was indeed; worth to celebrate.

Hyukjae looked at the ring in his finger while Kyuhyun stepped out of the shower. “It’s beautiful.” He whispered when Kyuhyun slid down the blankets with him; automatically pulling him closer and hugging him by the waist; making Hyukjae’s back touch Kyuhyun’s wide chest.

“You are beautiful.” Kyuhyun whispered in Hyukjae’s ears as he kissed Hyukjae’s shoulders.

Hyukjae turned around. “This must be really expensive.” Hyukjae said turning around and cuddling himself in Kyuhyun’s chest.

“They were happy to give it to us Hyukkie.” Kyuhyun said closing his eyes. “Don’t make them feel rejected.”

Hyukjae sighed and closed his eyes too. “I love you.” He said smiling softly as he could hear Kyuhyun’s heartbeat.

“I love you too Hyukkie.” Kyuhyun said kissing Hyukjae’s hair.

There was going to be so many sad things in their lives; there were already dozens of people they missed; but there would always be those who love them; new members of the family; a family that they truly belonged; a family that couldn’t be compared to anyone’s.

But as there were going to be sad things; there were going to be happy ones; probably the most; because they enjoyed what they were doing; honest smiles were like the motor that made them keep on.

And apart from that; their love wouldn’t fade away; because it was such a strong bond that no one could break.

They had all what they needed for them to keep holding on.
